Arrest made, Aggravated Assault

The Saint John Police have made an arrest in relation to an aggravated assault that occurred at a local business on Union Street in Uptown Saint John on December 23, 2025.  

It is reported that: 

On Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at approximately 5:21 p.m., the Saint John Police responded to an assault that occurred at a local business on Union Street. 

Officers arrived to find a 28-year-old female employee, who had sustained injuries as a result of an assault. The female was transported to the hospital by ambulance. Her physical injuries have been reported as non-life threatening. The suspect was unknown to the victim.  

The male suspect left the store on foot prior to police arrival. 

Patrol members immediately began to canvass the area for the suspect. Through timely investigation, officers were able to locate and arrest a 38-year-old male a brief time later.  

The accused will appear in court this morning charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon and fail to attend relating to an outstanding arrest warrant.
