(UPDATE) Arrest in Stabbing of a Police Officer

The accused appeared in court this afternoon. She was charged with assaulting a peace officer, obstruction, and causing a disturbance. She was remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear in court on the morning of Thursday, September 18, 2025, for a bail hearing.

The Saint John Police have arrested a 30-year-old female in connection with the stabbing of a police officer.
It is alleged that:
On Monday, September 15, 2025, at approximately 8:50 p.m., officers responded to reports of a disturbance at a business in the Galbraith Place area.
Officers arrived on scene and located the suspect at another business close by.
As officers made attempts to converse with the suspect, an officer was stabbed.
The 30-year-old female suspect was taken into custody without injury.
The injured officer was rendered aid at the scene and then transported to hospital and later released. She is currently recovering from non-life-threatening injuries.
There were several people inside the store at the time of the incident, but no other physical injuries were reported.
The Saint John Police would like to thank all the first responders and medical staff who assisted the injured officer.
The 30-year-old woman is scheduled to appear in court this afternoon, September 16, 2025, to answer to multiple charges in connection with the incident.
