(UPDATE) Arrests in Drug Investigation

Update: August 27, 2025, at 10:55 p.m. 

One adult male appeared in court to answer to the charges relating to this drug investigation.  He has pled guilty and was sentenced to five and a half years in custody.  In addition, the court ordered the forfeiture of more than $55,000 in Canadian currency and over $60,000 worth of controlled substances that had been seized. 

The second male has been charged with proceeds of crime and possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine and oxycodone.  He has been remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date to answer to those charges.

The Saint John Police Street Crime Integrated Enforcement Unit (I.E.U.) have made arrests in a drug trafficking investigation. 

Information received led to an investigation into the trafficking of controlled drugs beginning in June 2025. 

As result of the investigation, four Controlled Drugs Substance Act (CDSA) search warrants were granted.   

On August 20, 2025, all warrants were executed by members of the IEU with the assistance of Saint John Police Patrol members. 

Six individuals were arrested without incident. One male aged 51 and another male aged 47 were held for court.  

The search warrants and arrests, resulted in the seizure of: 

Cocaine – 299.82 grams (street value $29,982

Crack cocaine – 301 grams (street value $30,100

Oxycodone 5 mgs – 33 pills ($330

Cutting Agent – 119 grams 

Cash – $55, 163 

Cross bow with three arrows 

Bear spray 

3 imitation firearms 

Asp baton 

625 x 22 cal ammunition 

The 51-year-old male was charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine, possession for the purpose of trafficking oxycodone and proceeds of crime. He is scheduled to appear in Court today, August 21, 2025, for a bail hearing. 

The 47-year-old male was charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine and proceeds of crime over $5000. He is scheduled to appear in Court today, August 21, 2025, for a bail hearing. 

The Integrated Enforcement Unit (I.E.U.) currently consists of officers from the Saint John Police, Kennebecasis Regional Police Force, Royal Canadian Mounted Police, and New Brunswick Justice and Public Safety.
